Nickel Plate GP60

Image © 1998 by Joshua Moldover

Painted by Aaron Border

Painter's note: "NKP was looking for a locomotive that would be comparable to their famous Berkshires in hauling time freight. Trusting in EMD's reliable engines, they bought 25 GP60's, which were delivered in 1990. The Nickel Plate was so confident in these locomotives that they gave them 700 series numbers, just like the Berks. The Geeps also debuted a new paint scheme, with larger 'Nickel Plate Road' lettering, a different style, and a single stripe on the side of the hood."
