Painter's note: Here's a painting of the Uintah Basin & Yampa Valley Railway's first diesel. While it's not very imaginative, WW II was in full swing and the railroad just wanted the motive power. The UB&YV received trackage rights over the D&RGW between Craig and Steamboat Springs during WW II and shippers soon began to confuse the two lines. As a result, the UB&YV went to the brown and orange paint scheme seen on the FM Erie-builts.
