Submitting Your Drawings to the Railroad Paint Shop

Note: This submission form is needed only if you will be submitting blank drawings to the Railroad Paint Shop. Do not use it if you want to send in painted drawings. At this time, due to workload constraints, the Back Lot Gallery is closed to new submissions.

Thank you for your interest in submitting drawings to the Railroad Paint Shop! In accordance with site policy, all drawings submitted must either be completely original, or, if based on another artists work, have been done with their written permission. If you adapt a drawing from an existing one or use parts of an existing one that was created by someone else, you must forward a copy of the original artist's written permission to have done so for your drawing to be posted. To apply for permission to submit blank drawings, all contributors must complete the following registration form:

Your Name?

Your E-mail Address?

  1. Please give a brief description of the drawings you woud like to submit to the Railroad Paint Shop (model numbers, type of equipment, etc.)

  2. What scale are the drawings done in?

  3. Are all parts of your drawings (bodies, trucks, couplers, wheels, etc.) either completely original (generated by you from scratch) or taken from copyright-free artwork? "Original" means original in electronic format - creating an electronic drawing from a plan or diagram in a book or magazine is acceptable, but not copying a piece of an existing electronic drawing by someone else, and editing it or "correcting" it to fit your own. Yes No

  4. If no, give the name(s), and address(s) of the artist(s) you have taken pieces from. If you intend to submit multiple drawings to the Railroad Paint Shop, and use different parts depending on the drawing, please state separately for each drawing you plan to submit.

  5. If any parts of your drawings are taken from copyright-free artwork, state where the original artwork came from, what the original image was, and which parts of it you use. If you intend to submit multiple drawings to the Railroad Paint Shop, and use different parts depending on the drawing, please state separately for each drawing you plan to submit.

  6. What source material and software do you use to create your drawings? If books or plans, please state which ones. If different parts are done in different ways, or if you intend to send multiple drawings to the Railroad Paint Shop, and different ways are used depending on the drawing, please state for each drawing (or part of) that is done in a different way.

  7. Please provide your phone number so that I can contact you if I have any questions regarding your answers to these questions.

Type the following in the box below: "I hereby certify that my answers to the above questions are true. ", along with your full name.

After you have sent in your registration, I will forward you an I.D. number, along with an e-mail address to send your submissions to. Please use your I.D. number in the subject line for all submissions to the Railroad Paint Shop. If I determine that your answers to these questions have not been true, any or all of your drawings may be rejected, and you may be restricted from sending in blank drawings in the future.

Note: This page does not send an acknowledgement after you have sent it. Please only press the submit button once. Thank you.
