Name: Brad Busse Date: March 27, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: This site is a Great find. I am doing some engines for the gallery. Thanks for the work you put in for my enjoyment. Other comments: This is a GOOD TIME. Name: John McLaughlin Date: March 23, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Flexi-Van intermodal flatcars and "vans". Equipment was pioneered by NYC. Many cars ran under Merchants Dispatch marks (MFVX). ATSF, MILW, & IC also used smaller numbers of the equipment. I am especially interested in the Mark IV version of the cars, and the vans that were leased to PRR in 1967. Other comments: Name: Joel Galtieri Date: March 21, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Hi ! I am 5 years old and I LOVE trains!! My mom and I just found this web site today. Name: Matt White Date: March 20, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: GP38-2 standard cab in 1/87 scale. Name: Ivar Aas Date: March 19, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Modern locomotives from the US. Other comments: Just like I need, when modeling US railroads here in Norway. Name: Andrew Wallice Matheson Date: March 12, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: I was wondering if it's possible to get a copy of the drawing thats used on Raifan.net. Please advise. Name: John Dallaire Date: March 10, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Just came across your site and I am greatly impressed. No suggestions at this time until I have had an opportunity to see the entire contents of an interesting and helpful site. Name: Michael A. Woody Date: March 9, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Hi! I copied one of your steam locamotives last night to my paint program and my 5 year old daughter won't let me back on the computer as she "paints" the locamotive and tender. So when I finaly got back on the computer and found your page again I copied 3 more and the Depot for her to paint. What a great Idea and Page. I won't give out any of these drawings but I will give your Page address to others. It is a sure way to get others interested in these machines. Good Work! and Thanks! Name: Frank J. Weed Date: March 7, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: I'm a special education school bus driver in Texas. I get the kids to color a drawing for me every week or so. My aide judges the pictures and each child gets an award. I will try to e-mail some of them as I get time. I know its odd, but the kids love to color the locomotives. The BNSF goes through town and they love it when I have to stop at the crossing. Name: Kyle McKerrow Date: March 7, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: I am not very good at drawing steam, so I would like to see some Pennsy steamers in 1/87 scale. Other comments: If any one knows where I could find 1/87 scale drawings of the GE Dash-8 series of locomotives, I would like to know, because I would like to add the entire Dash-8 line to the site. If anyone has suggestions for any diesel addtions and knows where I can get 1/87 drawings of them, send me an email. Name: Craig Cole Date: March 7, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: This is my first visit to your site, and you are indeed to be congratulated on a marvelous service. I've been a railroad fan for the past 50 years (NYC Canada Division) but am new to the computer world. Best of luck, and keep up the good work. Name: Karen Sladden Date: March 5, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: I just wanted to tell you that I had had so much fun at your site last night.... My son has cancer, he is five and he has met a gentleman at the hospital that volunteers his time to bring the his joy of model trains to the kids at clinic and on the ward.... he has a portable set up that he and the engineers at the hospital have been able to put on wheels, so that he can take it right into the children's rooms (as they are usually in isolation if they are hospitalized)..... he also wheels the set right into clinic some days.... Andrew has become quite interested in "Papa's" trains and looks forward to seeing him every Tues. I will show Andrew your site when he gets home from school, He will love to color the trains! Here is his picture. Just a note to go with the picture... this was taken in Dec of 1999. Andrew has since had a feeding tube in his tummy to help supplement his diet... he has gained three pounds and has become so much stronger that he was able to return to school two weeks ago! his prognoses is 80% cure and we are very encouraged by his maturity and strength.... Thanks again. Name: Helge Kristoffersson Date: March 3, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: I would appreciate to see some 0-3-0 "cowcatcher" from the "old days". Other comments: I found the Paintshop site when I exchanged E-passes with some of my RR-friends. I have used many hours so far (my wife too) to study all materials and links on this site. It is most valuable for us modeler to see correct drawings of e.g. engines when it comes to painting. To the latest contest -bnsfcontest - I have delivered some paintings, a very fun experience, especially after that I have installed a rather good program, the Paint Shop Pro 6. Keep on with the terrific service. Name: Joe Zukauskas Date: March 3, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Milwaukee Road Olympian Hiwathatha Passenger Equipment with Sky Dome observation from 1950's in Western Washington State. Name: Jeremy Oreskovich Date: March 1, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: I'd like to see possibly some more of the oddities of railroading, like the ALCo C-645H and the Pennsy T-1 Duplex. Also, how about the hood unit version of the Krauss Maffei? Other comments: Name: Tom Busack Date: February 29, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: How about a drawing of a Chessie GP15T or a streamlined hudson 4-6-4? Other comments: Name: Donald Terrell Date: Febraury 28, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Just stopped by to see what is going on. I am a Santa Fe fan and like to keep up on what is going on.As far as the planned merger of BNSF & CN, just put a "bloody nose" on the present BNSF and call it the BNSF & CN. That would be the easiest and it would look OK... Name: Tom Busack Date: February 26, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Great job on the drawings on your site. Name: Jim Kociemski Date: February 26, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: First time here, but not the last. Name: Tim Hyde Date: February 14, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: As I while away this rainy evening surfing the net, I come across your drawings of the heavyweight sleeping cars. I am privileged to work with a museum group that has eight Pullman heavyweights on the property, and I know them all quite well. The accuracy and impact of your drawings is without peer. Very well done! I look forward to sharing views of your images with my colleagues. Name: Robert Farrell Date: February 14, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: I would like to see NYC Hudson drawings. Name: Steve Martin Date: February 7, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Sorry I don't have anything to contribute as I'm from away downunder, in Sydney Australia. Other comments: Hope one of the paint schemes from the contest is accepted as it will be well worth consideration, as who knows better, what a color scheme for a train should be than a fellow modeler in this hobby. Name: Stian Soerby Date: February 6, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: I would like to see a F40PH in HO scale. I'd also like to see an C44-9W in HO scale. Nielsen Date: January 3, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Just followed the link off of the Nashville and Southern RR. I paint and letter my own rolling stock (for my own road) as well as make my own decals. I have a ficticious car manufacturing and rebuilding (anything railroad related pretty much) company I call R.K. Industries. I enjoy scratchbuilding my own rolling stock (flat cars mostly) and was interested the moment I saw the link to this site. Going to take a peek! Name: Ed Irons Date: January 3, 2000 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: I love the Railroad Paint Shop web site. I noticed that you have drawings for several "what-if" locomotives. I've long wondered what it would have looked like if EMD had crossed an F7 with an SD7 to come up with a six-axle F-Unit. I think it would have been intended for passenger service on railroads with mountainous routes such as GN, NP and maybe SP. The longer carbody would provide more room for boiler water (perhaps a second steam generator), while the extra powered axles would come in handy on the grades. Name: Kevin Slark Date: December 31, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: I would like to see a D&SL 2-6-6-0. I have plans for these locomotives. I can send you a copy of them. Other comments: Nice page, a great resource. Name: Greg Mackling Date: December 29, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Ore cars in DM&IR paint schemes would be nice. Other comments: Name: Dennis J. Holmes Date: December 29, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: EMD DD35 Booster, EMD SDP45 (Flat-back and Bevel-back), EMD SD24 Booster. Other comments: This site kicks some serious butt! I found about it on the railfan list "OreRail" at OneList. Name: John Sutton Date: December 26, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: It's looking good. Name: Ian Priser Date: December 23, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Amtrak's Amfleet Observation "Beech Grove", EMD F40PHM-2, F69PHAC, more 1/87 scale drawings. Other comments: Great Site! I already have a large collection of painted locos, keep up the great work! Name: Paul Lalande Date: December 16, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Hello, I speak French but I have some difficulty in English. I like to draw trains. I live in Quebec city, Canada, and the major passenger rail company is VIA Rail Canada. This company has a rolling meterial LRC ( Light, Rapid and Comfortable). You don't have this type of locomotive on your site. I would like to see it on your site. The LRC was made by Bombardier in 1980. I can send you a picture of that. Other comments: Name: Carlton Stovall Date: December 14, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: An American (4-4-0) steam locomotive. Other comments: Nice site, but a little hard to figure out. I'm not use to this type of site and I am not an artist. Keep up the good work. Name: Daniel Raitz Date: December 14, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Drawing of the ALCO C-415. They were published in the Mar 85 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman. Other comments: Great Site! I've already made use of some of the drawings to try out some paint schemes for our club. Name: Sadewo Yakti Date: December 9, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: I would like to see a drawing of U20CW locomotive. It's an Indonesian locomotive that's used for operating the Argo Bromo Train set. Other comments: I think this website (the Railroad Paintshop) is very good. It's like an encyclopedia of GE locomotive's images. I'm sorry if my English not good. Thank you. Name: Philip van Rantwyk Date: December 8, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: I need drawings of Weyerhaeuser diesel units and what kind did they have - diesel no 765. Thanks. Keep up the good work. Name: Jim Dietsch Date: November 30, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Have you forseen in the near future of the paint scheme for the BNSF-NS? I am retired off the CB&Q-BN railroad as a conductor. Name: Sean Naylor Date: November 29, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: This is my first time here. Name: Larry M. Boyer Date: November 27, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: I would like to see some drawings of say... 4-6-6-4 challengers (Northern Pacific) along with some Great Northern steam. Other comments: This is a great site! I have enjoyed playing around with some "what if" type paint schemes on an old railroad. Name: Mike Pendleton Date: November 26, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: This is my first time on your site-mike Name: Keith LeBaron Date: November 18, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: All I can say is WOW! What an interesting site. I really enjoyed looking at the drawings and paintings. This is great! I'll bookmark this site and come back when I have more time. Already been here 30 minutes. Other comments: Name: Josh Blevins Date: November 16, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: GE C30-7 or C36-7 and C32-8 or C39-8 Other comments: Great site for those interested in model railroading, especially free-lancers. Name: Ed Elzy Date: November 15, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Looking to get back into Model RR and sites like this are a great way to see what the older power looks like. Currently run the newer stuff for work (C.P. Rail, SOO Line, and old MILW power). Other comments: Great site, perfect idea. Name: Caroline Scannell Date: November 13, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Actually, I live on the Long Island Rail Road (that is, I spend more time on the train commuting to and from work than I spend at home). But I don't know what kind of engine these old diesels have. So I don't know what I'm looking for. I think they're Alcos but not sure. Anyway, I hear that on Monday (11/15) they will be replaced with new diesel equipment by Kawasaki. I'm always looking for train art to "steal". Especially since the train stamps came out this year (I'm a philatelist, thus my e-mail of philate) and I like the RPO on this page best! Other comments: Name: John R. Woodall Date: November 10, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Very good site, fantastic drawings of locomotives. Name: Mark Rulona Date: November 10, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: A Santa Fe front cab view in the correct colors. Other comments: I would really like to see a Union Pacific, CSX, Conrail, Tri-Rail freight train and a USA express. Name: Ryan Hickey Date: November 8, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Two things I would like to see added: MK5000C and GP60M but with the wide cab found on say, SD90MAC's. Other comments: The website is terrific. I look forward to returning many times. Name: R. Beer Date: November 4, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: A very informative site, but I am looking for a drawing of a MILW or South Shore Little Joe. Other comments: Nice gas turbines. Name: Brent Toth Date: October 27, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: This site needs some more safety cab diesels. Specifically, the Dash 8-40CW and the SD60M or I locomotives. Would also like a larger version of the SD40-2, as it is one of the most popular locos ever. Other comments: Would also like to suggest a section with prototype logos to download to use in our paintings. Name: Chuck Batherson Date: October 24, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Boston & Maine, Maine Central and BAR of the 50's and 60's. Other comments: Name: David Winter Date: October 17, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: I am looking for a good drawing (any scale) of the CN Safety Cab, both sides, front and top, as applied to SD40-2's. I can do the math that converts it to 1/29. I' m building new cabs for the Aristo G Scale units due out in the spring. Other comments: Good Morning. You might provide outline drawings of various diesels, front and side GP-9 for example, for your paint scheme submissions. I have used the same scheme on my Winter Valley diesels for over 25 years, and it is well known in various circles, however I don't have access to a good outline drawing that I can use. Name: Pat McCarthy Date: October 15, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much I appreciate the work you (and your contributors) have put into this site. I will use your drawings to assist with the custom painting of my diesel fleet, and I assure you my work will be better because of you. Thank you - thank you - thank you. Name: R.T. Dowling Date: October 13, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: There are a few new locomotives that I'd love to see on the Paint Shop: the GP15D and GP20D from EMD. These are their new "low horsepower" locomotives. Other comments: Name: Mark A. Kubala Date: October 13, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: This site is great! It gives you some to do other than look at R.R. pictures. Had a ball painting one of your GP-40's. Thanx Name: Jack Hankey Date: October 12, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Hi, found this site reading an email from a member at N_onelist.com. I will browse your website further later. Jack Name: Val Manes Date: October 11, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Terrific site! Is there any chance you could make the drawings available in a vector format (eps, cdr, wmf) This would make it easier to apply paint schemes. Thanks, and keep up the good work. Val Name: Charles Robinson Date: September 30, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: I'm looking for a PS 50' ribside box, the PS 4750 covered hopper... well, anything PS (typical RI meat:-). One thing, two things really, that would be neat are the 86' auto parts boxes, in the 2 and 4 door versions. But, at any rate those are just some suggestions of mine. Other comments: If you'll allow me to say some more things, your drawings feature more details than I've ever seen. I particularly(?) love the Wine continuous lading strip on the Evans typ 3 gon. In regards to the freight cars, whatever new ones that you do, The Rock will have one! Name: Josh Lubchansky Date: September 30, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: I love this site! Other comments: Keep up the good work and put up my Acela's :-) Name: William A. Orlandi Date: September 29, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Thank you for a marvelous site. Other comments: I found the info on the FM C-Liner I wanted except for this question -- were any PRR C-Liners painted in the five stripe scheme or were they all single stripe? I have restored an old AHM C-Liner - A unit, painted it Brunswick Green and am ready to letter and detail it. It runs great! Maybe you would know - thank you. Name: Mike Pendergrass Date: September 27, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: The only addition I can think of is some depressed bottom flat cars. Other comments: The site is COOOL ! ! ! You can count on a link from my site when I get it together ! Name: Bill Foust Date: September 25, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Would like to see more color pictures of Rock Island diesels in the original Rocket paint scheme. Other comments: I just happened to stumble across this web site looking for pictures of a BL2. This is really a great site for model railroaders like me. Keep up the good work. Name: John Brazil Date: September 22, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Milwaukee Road GP20m's, road numbers 945-999. Note that there were several variations on the air ducts. Name: David Chester Date: September 6, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: It would be great if you created a page on how to produce blank scale images on the PC. Name: Michael Passmore Date: August 17, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: I'd like to see a GP-35 in 1/25 scale, as well as drawings of Illinois Central Gulf Paducah shop GP-8s (rebuilds of GP-7s) and GP-10s (rebuilds of GP-9s). I'd also like to see someone provide fonts that match lettering used by prototype railroads or scans of decals that can be pasted to painted models. Other comments: I hate to nitpick some of the fine paintings in the back lot gallery, but I would like to see some artists take better care to more closely match fonts used by the railroads whose locomotives they are tying to paint. I love this site! Name: Royston Hill Date: August 14, 1999 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Very useful. I have been trying for ages to get a drawing of a Big Boy that I can open with normal viewers. The only thing missing for me are the dimensions of the locomotive. I have been an HO model railroader for close to forty years. I found your web site about two months ago. Recently, I decided to repaint some locomotives, and rolling stock, for the year 2000 Y2k thing. I remembered your site, and saw that you even had a contest, of some pretty nice color schemes. I hope I did not cause any problems, but I downloaded some of the drawings, and converted them to bit map format, in paint so they could be colored. I added some lines for stripes, and painted about four different designs, to see which ones were best. The only drawings I had major problems with, were the RS3, and RS3m which messed up all the colors. Thank you for the great web page, and drawings. Keep up the great work!!! In general, end and top views of equipment as well as sides would be very useful. I know I want a lot, but that's the prerogative of those who find a good thing without knowing how to acomplish it. Other comments: I'm at a loss as to how to actually proceed to use the "blanks" for coloring in a color scheme. Andy Other comments: When are we going to see Railroad simulations of the quality and variety of Flight simulators and the open ended additions that FS programs allow? We see more and more 3D but not of the quality of Flight Simulators. The computers of today certainly have the capacity and ability to do a really great job of simulation even to the joysticks and instrument panels and sim cockpits. I didn't know where to send this note but can you forward it to the appropriate people? Other comments: Excellent site. Very unique look at railroading. The units in primer for viewers to colour is an excellent idea, as it allows viewers to be creative, either by designing their own paint schemes or that of a fallen flag, or mimic a prototype. Name: John Forrester Date: October 23, 1998 Equipment to add to the site: GE CW6000 with steerable trucks, Gen I, like new CP CSX, and Gen II, not in production. Other comments: I hate to nit-pick but your CW4400 are equiped with D.C. traction motors. The D.C. uses a set rubber shear pad mounts to counter motor torque, the a.c. uses a cast link with rubber mounts at each end called a "dogbone" for its shape. The units shipping out of Erie do not have shocks on both ends of axles 1, 3, 4 and 6. 1-3 on one side and 4-6 are opposite. None of my petty complaints make your artwork any less fantastic. Name: Leon Honings Date: October 14, 1998 Equipment to add to the site: Other comments: Is there any chance of getting the original vector drawings as eps files, adobe illustrator files or CorelDraw files etc.? I am editor of ModelSpoorwegen, the newsletter of the Contactgroup NMRA Netherlands and sometimes need drawings of USA RR equipment. However, gif or jpeg files from the Internet usually do not have the resolution I need. Also, for my personal use when designing a new color scheme for my freelance RR, a vector drawing would make color changes much easier. BTW, ModelSpoorwegen is NOT a commercial magazine, but a club newsletter, we cannot pay for contributions.
